I'm trying to get my Nikon Supercool scan 5000 to work on my Windows 7 x64 laptop and tried to follow the instructions provided by Sygnus21 "Getting your Nikon Coolscan to work on W7 x64". I cannot access the links for downloading the scanners.zip file so I can extract the scanners.inf file. Please help. Thanks.

    Hello deirdremeldrum, welcome to sevenforums.

Sorry but I can't understand how you can't download the file? I just tried it and it works fine here.

And not that it should matter, but are you using anything other than IE (internet Explorer)?

    Dear Nikon fixer!!!
You are the best it took a while but I am now back at work. And with all the others I will never buy a nikon product again.
It is unbelievable that they do not have this update.

When trying to update driver, I keep getting "access denied". I have followed the instructions and tried several times.
    Any suggestions? Thanks, Arold

    Yeah I need a bit more information - OS/version, Scanner model, USB/FireWire?

And there is tons of info here for getting scanners working, just need a bit more info.

The 5000 definitely works under Windows 7 with these procedures. Check that you're doing things correctly.
