NetGear WN121T wireless adapter driver problem

    Hi,

I have just built an Intel Core i7 860 windows 7 x64 system,

I am having trouble getting my " Netgear WN121T RangeMax Next Wireless-N Network Adapter " to work.

I have installed driver version 1.0.4.3 which by all acounts should work,, but doesn't.

I went into device manager and went to the properties info for the device and then the hardware tab where it says " Device Status: This device cannot start (Code 10)"

Please can anbody help me find a way to get this wireless adapter to work?

    Thanks,
    Duncan

    thanks thefabe,

I have already tried this driver...

it installed but then the netgear window i would expect did not come up. I looked in task manager and it was running but didn't appear to be working properly. I also got a message in the task tray (that bit on the right of the task bar) saying 'driver not installed properly'

I uninstalled the drivers. rebooted, and tried reinstalling them. It still didn't work and when I tried to uninstall this time it would not, this time it said there were missing files and could not uninstall.

    So I did a clean install of win7 x64.

I have done this several times and I have also tried installing this driver in Vista SP2 compatability mode and this didn't work.

finally after a clean install of win7 x64 I have taken my computer to within reach of a LAN connection and have let 7 find the generic drivers. It found 1.0.4.3 , the ones everyone recomends which I think are in the 5.2 pack

    any other Ideas??

After you have uninstalled the driver from device manager and rebooted are you waiting for the software to prompt you to insert the device before completing the install? Probably didn't need to be asked, but Netgear is very specific about how to install the device. ftp://downloads.netgear.com/files/WN121T_IG_30Jan07.pdf After following these instructions to the T with the 5.2 driver, and a problem still presists and knowing most of the time Vista drivers will work. I would be inclined to think it could just be a incompatibility issue with seven.Hopefully someone else with more experience with USB wireless devices might have another idea.Good luck . Fabe
