    Samsung ML-1510 700 Laser Printer

Thought it might be of interest for anyone else with this 5 year old printer to know that on my system it works with XP drivers (downloaded from the Samsung site) but NOT Vista drivers.

Right-click on the driver file, select Troubleshoot Compatability, and follow the instructions.

    Cheers

Worked with Samsung SCX-4x21 Series Driver

Thanks for the trick. I've been unable to print on our networked Samsung SCX-4521F laser printer. Finally I downloaded the latest driver from samsung, extracted the exe to a folder then right-click on the setup.exe and choose properties>compatibility "run this program in compatibility mode for: windows vista "

FYI: Just installed the SAMSUNG 32-bit driver for the ML-1510 on my 64-bit Windows 7!!!! I thought you couldn't DO that!

    Sorry

Erm, I was right - you can't use a 32-bit driver in a 64-bit operating system. I just checked the Samsung ML-1510 driver and found that, ALTHOUGH it is installed in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Samsung" folder (and the driver setup - and documentation - does not mention 64-bit installation) the installer installs the 64-bit Vista driver!

    So, Samsung:

    1) Thanks for the Windows 7 and 64-bit support for this excellent, venerable printer, but
    2) Please install the 64-bit driver into the RIGHT %PROGRAMFILES% directory!!! Hey, the installer HAS to query the environment to install to the 32-bit "C:\Program Files (x86)" directory, which is the wrong place, anyway!
    3) PLEASE EXPLICITELY document that this is a 32/64-bit driver???? I just checked and the only way that I could find out if the driver is 64-bit, is the name of the "VISTA_64" directory and the INFs. No other documents at all!!!

    Thank you!
