lies the windows7 iso burner tool; and it solved the problem!

Download the tool under the Installation title, from:

a system I was upgrading for my friend had this problem, I think it's caused by installeing windows having an older IDE optical drive with a SATA HDD, at least this was the problem in my case, I plugged in a USB optical drive and installed it from there with no problems.

    solution

here is solution for the win7 installation error "a required CD/DVD device driver missing".

change your DVD-ROM ide cable to Ultra DMA 80 pin cable. no need to buy new drive, no need to download iso again. no usb drive needed.

installed 7 previously without problems. i changed dvd-rom IDE cable to old 40 pin model without knowledge. then i got this problem. i put back 80 pin cable and installed win7 successfully again.

registered in forum to post this solution for you people. :)

Try installing your Sata Controller drivers.

I1m going to giving up with MS and go to an open source OS

    Hi,
I'm from Hungary and actually totally confused.
I'm running a Vista Business in Hungarian and three weeks ago decided to upgrade to 7.
That's because all of my colleagues have very good experiences with it.
So I purchased an upgrade from MS Store - not cheep, but if decision is fallen, than go true.
After downloading the ISO-image and try to install it was immediately clear that there is a language issue, because i bought a 7 Pro in English. (much cheeper as the vHu in Hungary - may be the mistake.)
If so, shouldn't be a big deal, let's burn a bootable DVD and it's solved.
First DVD - burnt with ImgBurn and donno witch speed, I expect the fastest - gave me the well known error message s. in the topic's subject.
That was the time to call tech support of MS, because of the results of Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor run before the above mentioned decision: there are no incompatible drivers/programs on my computer for win 7. (except of the driver of my MoBo which should be checked with windows update after installing of 7 whether this is the newest one)
First advise of them was that I should download again, may be there was an error during downloading process.
So I did it with the same result: downloaded file sizes are the same.
Call/mail again: I should try to burn it again with MS's own tool, Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool. Burnt the second time.
    Same error.
that was the point to start my investigations on the internet. Found several solutions which were helpful for others but none of them was useful in my situation. I tried to:
    - create a bootable USB flash drive
    - start the boot section from an external DVD-drive
    - write the complete content of the disc to a new partition
    - " to the flash drive
and all combinations of those above.
    And still not working.
I'm now frustrated and about to use any open source OS instead of MS if i would'nt have invested so much time and money in it.

    My questions at the end:
why MS not informing about known or possible issues during upgrade before buying it?
all conditions and versions what we use are known - I'm sure.
why MS does'nt undertake NOTHING to solve the driver issues during installation since about a year?
why isn't a competent support there to solve the users's issues?
why the user's community hase to be the best way to solve issues?
    (last one is only theoretically)

    What I've forgotten:
I only subscribed to write it before, sorry, no solution, only frustration.
