    Display Problems - HP Pavilion

    Hi all,

I have a HP Pavilion laptop (dv6810us). It's about 1.5 years old, so it came w/Vista. I currently have it dual booted w/7 Premium, and everything works fine except for the display. In the Vista boot, i get 1280x800, very clear. When i boot into 7, it says it displaying the same resolution, but it looks horribly fuzzy, and the icons are larger.

I've tried all display/control panel options thus far, and i've ensured that i have all settings to their highest level. I've searched HP's website for compatible 7 display drivers, but nothing has been released. Is it that my laptop simply cannot handle 7?

First go to Nvidia and download and unpack the latest driver for your card Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers Then go to this site NVIDIA MobilityModder - DriverHeaven.net And follow the directions on how to modify the .inf file in your driver package you just downloaded. It seems that a lot of mobile drivers need to have the .inf file modified in order to work properly.Take your time and follow the directions, it has solved many a mobile card problrems in tthe past. Good luck. Please post back. Thanks. Fabe

Well, it's been a little while, and i finally had time to try this method out. No luck. Even after running the utility and modifying the driver, it still gives me the same error of incompatibility. Even though i downloaded the Windows 7 version of the driver, the error comes up and says that i'm not using a Vista compatible driver. ??

Woo! Did some troubleshooting and everything is now working fine (knocks on wood)! Wonderful, high-quality display. Thanks to all on here for pointing me in the right direction.

did you just use the above method? I have the same problem, the highest display setting is still fuzzy. I'll try that method after class then.

oh, and how can I find my graphics card, I've done the scan method but that just downloads something immediately without giving me the chance to unzip it and do the other steps.
