Asus M3A / ATI SB600 / ATI Chipset RAID drivers 64-bit

Hi,
The M3A definately only has one controller, however when Asus make "Deluxe" versions of boards, or the "M3A" is followed by several other numbers/letters they add all sorts of features such as better sound, more RAID controllers, extra PCI slots, etc...and I can confirm Agudo's board has TWO controllers.

Please email me at my address and I will send you the files.

Thanks, Andrew

Well, finally I get it!! My english is very bad, so I´ll post an automatic translation of the process, and in Spanish too:
"The bad(wrong) thing is that not which driver served me, because it(he,she) had more than 15, the case is that trying, in spite of the fact that with all it(he,she) was giving myself the mistake of " driver unsigned ", suddenly me the unit appeared to install windows; in the last restart during the installation of windows, it(he,she) gave to me the mistake with which it was not possible to load a driver without signature(company), but I could solve it restarting and entering with F8 and deactivating the " obligatory load of drivers signed ". Already I have it working... So it is a question of trying... If you say to me I can say to you that driver is, put it immediately."

Hi,
Thanks for your reply, I think it'd be better if you wrote it yourself lol...glad to hear it's working even though it was difficult, it seems Windows 7 isn't fully supported yet.
Thanks, Andrew

El driver que te funciono es el ultimo q usastes... Si estas usando un win7 ultimate qde la opción de elegir el
64 o 32 bits, te puedo pasar el torrent de otro de 64 solo con el q se me soluciono el problema... Me alegro de q te rule bn...

The driver what worked was the last I used... If you are using a in7 ultimate what could install 64 or 32 bit version, I can solve the problem with a win7 ultimate with just 64 bit option and with the Andy's driver all works fine...

Thank you, Víctor

Well, I know the working driver was the last tried, but I don´t know which was the last one ;-P I was trying with a lot drivers, all with similar names, and I can´t identify it. Anyway, the next time I have to reinstall windows will be with other mobo, so it doesn´t matter.
Thanks to all.

(Agudo, me alegro de que te haya ido bien, Saludos.)

Hello,

The solution to this problem is to install using a 64-bit ONLY DVD, if you try and use a 32/64-bit DVD it will produce driver problems. You should be able to install using a 64-bit DVD as long as it is the same version (Home Premium, Ultimate, etc...) as the 32/64bit licence you purchased.

Thanks, Andrew

Mmm, there is a thing I didn´t say here afraid of your laughs, but I fairly remember that the driver I installed was a 32 bit one, in a seven 64 bits installation; but the amazing thing is that the driver installed is 64 Bits... The two drivers were in the same folder, but it´s a fool thing.
So, sure the problem is that andyc1988 tells, it´s better use a only 64 bits DVD.

64-bit installation on RAID

Here's what worked for me, thanks to two other posts:

Windows 7 installation gives 0×80300001 error | h3x.no

Insert the install DVD
Boot into the setup process
Get to the point where you need to select a partition and click Load Driver
Insert driver DVD
Locate the storage driver (AHCI/RAID)
Load first 32-bit, then 64 bit (see KB954701)

How to install third-party mass storage drivers for the 64-bit editions of Windows Server 2008 and of Windows Vista

Notice the message “Windows cannot be installed on this disk.” at the bottom
Insert the install DVD back into the drive
Expand the advanced drive options
Create a New partition consuming some amount of space, in my case all of it
Windows says it had to do some stuff, OK
Notice that there is a 100MB system partition and a new primary partition
Continue!

Hi there,

I know it is a real old post but I experienced the same issue and fixed it with a slight different workaround. In order to install win7 64bits on my Asus M2A-VM motherboard (quite old now) using 1 128Gb SSD and 2 WD HDD's (2Tb each) I had to:

1. Fix my BIOS settings (raid mode, select the good array to boot)
2. Setup the SSD as a single array
3. Make sure that the SSD is a MBR table (not GPT)
4. Download the Win XP raid ahci controller (V25154039) driver
5. Start the original Win 7 64bits DVD (I insist because the 32/64 mods did not work)
6. Load the driver contained in the WINXP1 folder
7. Install Win 7 on my SSD

I hope it will help people (I spent hours on this...)
