    Drivers installed with every logon

Every time I logon, W7 installs drivers for two PCI standard PCI-to-PCI Bridge devices; I don't know why there are two of these devices listed in Device Manager - if I delete them then both come back. Also, W7 installs a driver for an 'unknown device' - W7 gives no clue as to the nature of this device. Does anyone have any idea why W7 installs to these three with every logon and not just the once?
    Thanks

log in and let them install and then run windows update after a while and see if any new drivers come up,or go thru your drivers in device manager and see if you have all your latest drivers.are there no clues in event viewer?

    Event Viewer

Hi Smackheadz. I have run windows update and checked for new drivers using Device Manager but they seem to be current although I have not gone through every device - I'll try that now. Event viewer doesn't seem to include anything on installing drivers as far as I can see.

    Hi

Try updating your drivers from here:

    iMedia MC 2770 Drivers

Theog - thanks for the link. I did look at that before but was uncertain about downloading and installing any drivers for Vista or XP - there are none for W7 - and also because none were more recent than 2007. Hence, I left them alone and relied on Device Manager to update drivers - as mentioned, that shows all drivers as up-to-date. What confuses me as much as anything is that W7 always installs drivers on boot up, not seeming to remember them when I next logon to W7.

Its not installing them, it trying to find a driver to install for the device. If you arent having any issues, you can "disable" the device in device manager. Then it will stop trying to install a driver for it.
