Sony Vaio issues in Windows 7

I recently upgraded/clean install windows 7 over vista sp2 on my sony vaio VGN-CR240E. Windows 7 works great with one exception, now my DVD-RW drive wont show up at all, and when I go into device manager it shows me the drive with a driver error. However, if I load the windows disk in the cd tray, it will load the windows generic driver but only when I do that. is the a way to get a driver that will work?

    things tried already:

-checked sony esupport website for drivers...downloaded the two provided drivers..ran them via compatiblity mode-outcome -nothing

-went on the pioneer website for drivers-nothing

-tried finding the driver file on the windows install disk-nothing

Try downloading the file Optiarc DVD RW AD-7560a ATA Device update 6/09/09 for Vista to your desktop Sony eSupport - VGN-CR240E - Software Updates & Drivers >open to the setup.exe file and check the run in compatibility mode Vista> Stop. Then go to device manager go to DVD CD ROM drives.right click update driver software>browse my computer>let me pick>have disk>browse>navigate to the download .inf file>click (or double click the .inf file>click next>hit OK and see if it will force the install from their. I also noticed their is another file on Sony click to DVD 1 file the description is click to dvd update dated 2/28.08 you may want to try this file in compatibility mode first. Please post back. thanks Fabe
