Sony MPEG RealTime Encoder for Vaio desktop

I'd like to update a Vaio Desktop (VGC-830G) to Windows 7 but this is the only driver I cannot seem to find. Does anyone know if one even exists?

Hi there,

It looks like the model number is actually VGC-RA830G. Here are the drivers for that model: Sony eSupport - VGC-RA830G - Software Updates & Drivers (Scroll down and click 'MPEG')

I had the same problem with my VGC-LT33E Model. I did a clean install of the Windows 7 in 64 bit. I was unable to use the Sony MPEG RealTime Encoder from my model downloads. So I went to a more recent model that has the Windows 7 64 bit option already installed. I used the Model VGC-LV290 J/B and downloaded the Aver media A313 Mini Card Pure Analog TV (file AVDTVT-00216142-0042.exe.)

After you download you must install it from the Device Manager. Click on the device that indicates is missing and install from there by using "browse my computer" and using "have disk" options. Then find the file on you computer and click until you get the inf. file it will take you to a list. I picked the Aver Media A313 Mini Card Pure Analog TV. I got a warning may not be compatable. I ignored and it installed successfuly. So far no more missing device and the computer is running smoothly. Hope this helps. Also I downloaded some of the software from this model that I could not get from my models downloads and installed successfuly as well (Movie Story, Roxy Easy Media Creator, etc) . Hope this helps. Reminder, If you have another Operating System, be sure to select that one for the compatable driver.

Chronos300, were you able to find the right drivers using either of the proposed methods?

I did a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit on a Sony VGN-AR390E (which previously ran Vista Home Premium 32 bit). The model support pages don't provide Windows 7 support, or Vista 64 bit support. So i tried the approach above.

I downloaded the file described above and ran the .exe file. It created 2 folders in program files, and 1 file in windows\inf. However, It didn't install the driver. When I tried to use the device manager to do the install, I couldn't get it to work, by pointing at the file in inf or the folders. Maybe I just don't understand the process well enough, but I got nowhere. Can anyone help, please?
