acer aspire 5680 windows 7 issues

I have recently installed windows 7 professional on an acer aspire 5680 and having a few problems regarding updating drivers for a few devices (orbicam, touchpad, realtek audio etc.)

Since acer doesn't offer windows 7 compatible drivers for this model, I was wondering if anyone has had similiar problems and found some sort of viable solution(s). Thanks

I have acer aspire 5515 and just used the original ones that were intended for vista for the web cam. Many of the others (touchpad. hotkeys, display/audio) downloaded automatically from Microsoft via windows update upon installation once I had internet.

I have gotten a few of the drivers to install (some of them not well with compatibilty issues) but the the built-in webcam (acer orbicam) is still unspecified, and I can't seem to get any of the drivers listed on the acer website to pick it up.

If it is listed in your device mamager (unspefcified) you can right click on it>properties>details tab>dropdown menu>hardwarei d. Copy and Paste the string and maybe we can find a driver that wil work. Fabe

This is another Vista but you might want to give it a try ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/noteboo...n_v1_0_0_6.zip Fabe

    fabe,

that driver did not yield results, but I did in turn find a solution.

I installed the acer orbicam logitech application using the driver from the acer website, but still no detection of the webcam itself. I then proceeded to have the device manager look for the driver within that folder.

    and voila.

I thank you kindly for your help though.
