DVDRW don't read DVD,but read on boot .

    Hello all ,

I bought yesterday new dvd-Rw (samsung sh-s223 ) because the old one (old about 1,5 years)have problem with reading dvd,cd.I installed it and it is working worse than the old one.System recognize both devices but when I load some DVD it tries to read it and when it cant read it the window(or whole win 7)freeze,or new device become invisible to system till the next start up.And what is odd is that when I load on boot win 7 or Xp disk it read them with no problem!?
I applied the differnent solutions, namely removing the filters, but this does not work.
I have traveled the forum, and I think I have not found a problem similar to mine.

I have to install win 7 again or ther(s another solution ?

Any help would be appreciated .

    Thank you !

    Welcome!

Try updating your CD/DVD drivers. Go into Device Management and right-clicking on your drive.

Good morning Jonathan_King, Good morning all ,

Windows update does not find new updates and the problem is still there.

I will specify that reinstalling Windows 7, did not correct the problem.

    Please !

Yes I think you need to take a closer look at the drive itself as the sh-s223 is a series of drives.
