    CanoScan LIDE 600F

I installed lide600fvst641212ea15 which is the driver package under compability mode with vista and run as administrator checked and s7116MUx which is the Toolbox software which works but when i try using the scanner with the toolbox or quick buttons on the scanner itself everything works untill it is about to scan when i get the error "Unable to load Twain Server"

Is this fixable in any way?

I'm afraid I can't help, but I can confirm that the same problem is still there in build 7057

My only idea is to wait for the RC. Chances are it might be fixed.

I had a similar issue even with 7077 with a (rather) old scanner. I solved the problem by downloading the drivers (as it wasn't my scanner in the first place LOL) and installed them with compatability set for XP-SP2. Once installed I restart the laptop, once booted I go to device manager & right click the device (in my case 'unknown device') then choose 'Update Device Software' & it connected to Windows Update & started downloading then installed. Now it runs perfectly fine.

    Use drives in comatibility-mode.

@ OP thier is no need to install this driver in compatibility mode as they have a Windows Seven 64 bit driver. Try downloading the file to your desktop and open and run as administrator CanoScan LiDE600F film and negative scanner After clicking on the link you will need to select your operating system to get to the drivrer page. @ shiphen I can't tell from your system specs if your running 32 or 64 bit version of windows so I will post the link to the 32 bit as well it appears to be the same driver CanoScan LiDE600F film and negative scanner May I also suggest you download the quickstart guide also and or the manual as with some printers / scanners you need to start the installation then when prompted plug in the unit and turn it on this may or may not be the case in this instance, that is why I suggeted you download the quick start guide. As for not being able to find the setup.exe file I downloaded it clicked on properties and it says Application.exe lide600fvs1212ea15 the date on this driver is 10/19/09 12.13mb. Please give it a try and post back. Thanks. Fabe

I have tried EVERYTHING in this thread and nothing works for me.
    I am getting increasingly desperate.
Do I REALLY need to buy an entire new scanner just to have something that works in Windows 7 (x64) ?

You could try Vuescan from Hamrick if you can't find a driver for the scanner, though the cost of the software/driver will be $40 for the basic, $80 for the pro. There is a trial version to try for 30 days as well.

Supported scanners - VueScan Release Notes

    Good luck
