    I had a bad experience with the well known Driver Detective. I went through the process of registering (and paying!) as I thought it could be useful as a permanent feature. The darned program pointed to two hardware items on my desktop, that needed better drivers. When I followed the links, I found the drivers were actually older than the ones I had installed. I don't know what the search mechanics are of that program, but they didn't work for me.
    I will follow my usual procedure, particularly after reading the above, and go directly to the hardware sites for possible updates

    I agree, I have had nothing but disastrous results with those "automatic" driver update software packages. If it needs updating, do it on a case-by-case basis.

    hiiiiiiiiiii all, i am new to this forum plzzz help me
    today i ran verifier.exe & face bluescreen system crash twice during booting
    then get into window by pressing F8 then "last known good configuration" here is my memory dump file
