    boot problem

I have a boot problem after running a language update my computer crashed and i was unable to restart. I have tried the solutions described in another thread here. It sugested i ran the startup repair. from the installation disk. This failed i think because it was unable to see the harddrive. However if i use the command promt i can acces the drive . i guess my problem is that the repair funktion does not rekognise my hard drive, when you enter the repair screen it states that if you cant see the drive and windows installation then you should install the driver for the devise. My question is then how do i install this driver ? Its an seagate 500 gb sata disk and there was not a driver disk with. Hope someone has a solution as i would hate to do a complete reinstall.

    Welcome!

I don't think you will need to do a clean install, and I doubt you need drivers for that disk.

Okay, so you booted to your repair/installation disc and clicked Repair my computer. Did it find any installations?

Follow the directions here for marking the partition as active, then run Startup Repair again.
