    Standard VGA Drivers??

I am looking for a driver that will rune on my laptop. I have just installed Windows 7 64-bit on my laptop. Here are the specs:
    Name: Standard VGA Graphics Adapter
    Chip Type: Nvidia
    DAC type: 8-bit

    Main driver: vga

The Nvidia website has given some problems. I can't find what driver i need to download for my system. It keeps telling me that I don't have the correct windows OS to run the installer... Any help?

That is the driver Win7 installer put in for your Nvidia chip or graphics card. If it is not sufficient, then you will need to find out exactly what Nvidia chip or card you have in that computer to download the driver from either the computer maker's or Nvidia's Support Downloads webpage.

As you didn't fill out your System Specs, we can't find it for you. But a good place to start is the Support Downloads webpage for your model computer. Download and install the Display driver from there. It should also clue you to what chip/video card you have so you can search the Nvidia site for it if you need to search further.

I have the excact same problem and need to get new drivers. Mine is ATI, but otherwise the same specs.

Not really sure what system specs you need but...

    Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T7250 @ 2.00GHz
    RAM: 2,00Gt
    Windows 7 64 bits

Can you please help me with this? Where can I download and what to download? I'm pretty much novice at this. Thank you!

fausto thank you for filling in the spec's. There is only one small problem though, it is missing the model number of the laptop. Once you know that you should be able to go here,

    HP Support & Drivers

enter in the model number and get the drivers for it, if available for Windows 7 that is.

Ok I got the model number. It looks like they aren't available for Windows 7? Sigh, is there anything I can do more? (Model was Compaq 6820s)

If you can find Vista drivers, you can use them by installing them in Vista compatibility mode.. Compatibility mode allows a older program written for an earlier versions of Windows to possibly run in Windows 7..

In the case of your laptop there won't be any Windows 7 drivers. It has the ATI Mobility Radeon X1350, which along with everything else below the HD 2xxx series doesn't have any Windows 7 drivers due to ATI declaring them legacy status.

That said there are a couple of things you can try,

    1. Try installing the XP driver from HP using compatibility mode,

    Compatibility Mode

    2. Try the legacy driver,

    ATI Catalystâ„¢ Legacy Display Driver

Which may or may not install without some help. If it does install then there is nothing else to do. If it doesn't then you will need to use this,

Mobility Modder - ATI Version, Install the Latest Drivers on your ATI laptop

to mod the driver so that it will install.
