    Hi simme! Welcome to SevenForums:)

Try and see if this solves your problem:

    1. Click Start , enter device in the search field and select Device Manager from the list The Device Manage window opens.
    2. Double-click Universal Serial Bus Controllers to expand the list.
    3. Select USB Root Hub , and then right-click the item. Select Uninstall from the drop-down menu. Continue until all USB Root Hubs are removed.
    4. Once all the USB Root Hubs have been uninstalled, click the Scan for hardware changes button in the Device Manager taskbar. Windows 7 will scan your system and install default drivers to replace the ones you had just deleted.

Give that a try and see if it helps.:)

An obvious question, but is your USB enabled in your BIOS?
