'Coprocessor' on XFX 750a SLI Motherboard  

Greetings to all, now that I got my hands on Windows 7, I have a good reason to not only read up but register as well..

So far, I haven't had much trouble at all with drivers, had to download a whole bunch when I went from XP to 7 (obviously)... But I'm left with one device in my Device Manager that doesn't want to install. It doesn't show much information, and the driver CD I got with my board doesn't help much, despite the fact that it has XP and Vista drivers (7 can use them as far as I know).

Does anybody else here have a XFX 750a (MCP72P) board or know off-hand what this coprocessor is? I heard a rumour that it may be part of my nForce chipset, but even after updating all drivers it's still left driver-less.

Just as a side note; this hasn't been causing me any problems, everything I need works perfectly.. I don't use HDMI, e-SATA or SPDIF, so I suspect it may be something to do with one of those?

I have tried that, unfortunately the driver CD that came with my board installs everything except that; but even with all related drivers from the XFX website and nVidia website, I couldn't figure out what it was. That's the whole reason I'm asking...

It's not the end of the world, as I said it hasn't had any negative effect on my PC, but I was hoping somebody would have some experience with this board / chipset and might be able to point me in the right direction.

Thanks, that is actually an interesting read... Reading that with my board specs in mind, I'm guessing this could be related to my nForce chipset then. It's not likely to be the CPU or GPU.

The site should check your nVidia products and recommend the required drivers including one for the coprocessor.

You will need to access the site via IE though,it doesn't seem to support Firefox.

I do already have the latest GeForce and Physx drivers for it as of 3 days ago... But without having internet access at home, I've been downloading setups at work and installing at home. Maybe I should just bring my PC to work and try find it that way.

Well.... My apologies for the delay, this week has been a bit hectic (moved house, two big birthday parties, etc.).

Anyway, the elusive 'coprocessor' was finaly identified by the nForce 15.49 drivers for Vista and not 7 (for some reason, the file size was different between the two so I tried the other one), and it turns out it's the 'NVidia nForce System Management Controller'. As per my previous comment; doesn't seem to be any real change in performance though, but at least now I don't have any unknown devices in my device manager.
