    not , the fix for this is easy

    1.Connect the printer -- power on -- to your PC (USB)
    3.Press windows logo
    4.Device an printers
    5.Right click in Printers and Faxes for -->add a printer
    6.select Use an existing port -- USB001(Virtual printer port for USB)--> next
    7.press Have Disk--> inser CD driver in CD drive
    8.Browse--> click autorun.inf file in CD drive
    9.select P1005
    10.OK.......

    so easy..... testting windows seven ultimate x68

    I followed Jaquie's instruction with the ljM1005MFP-HB-pnp-winv64-en 6742Kbte version.
    The first time it said it had accepted but I had to do it a econd time to get a green OK Tick. Tanks Jacquie!! Im Running windows7 64 bir Ultimate.

    hi,
    i got the same problem with my hp laserjet 1005(lost driver cd) and win 7 and solve it this way, :
    1. dowlnoad driver for win xp HP LaserJet 1005 Printer - Download drivers and software - HP Business Support Center
    2. pick the HP LaserJet 1005 Host Based Driver it is 2.9 mb
    3. then extract that file with 7-zip file menager
    4. go to device manager, find printer and click update driver, driver find in folder you made extracting hp laserjet 1005 host based driver
