Windows 7 Low FPS in Games

    Hi,

I bought my laptop in October, its a Hp dv7-2111TX, with Q9000 Quad and 4 GB RAM.

Also, my graphics card is a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650.

I recently upgraded, not clean install, to Windows 7 Home Premium from Windows Vista Home Premium.

The main game I play on my laptop is Gears of War for Windows. On Vista, with max settings with EVERY setting, I was getting 60fps.

I installed Windows 7 and suddenly my fps dropped down to 30, sometimes 15 on maps like Mansion.

I went to the ATI website and then HP one (for Australia) and downloaded the latest drivers and Catalyst. This however had no effect on the fps at all.

To increase my fps I had to decrease the graphics settings to low to achieve at most 50fps.

IT IS NOT A HARDWARE PROBLEM, I HAD 60 FPS ON VISTA AND I HAVE A QUAD CORE.

I'm just wondering if anyone could help me out? It would be much appreciated.

    Cheers.
