CPU Frequency Drops > Issue with amdppm.sys
Good Day,
I hope someone can assist me.
I have been having a problem whilst gaming (although this also runs over onto net use when playing flash games ie. pokemon global link), I've noticed that my pc/game would stutter immensely for a while and then would run fine again.
I've found that in resource manager when this happens that my frequency rate drops from 100% to 25% and then after a time goes back to a 100% (stuttering then stops)
At first I thought it was with NT Kernal & System and through that and following a guide on how to locate the problem, I've established that it is the driver amdppm.sys
I'm not a terribly technical person, so thanks to all the tutorial makers out there.
I've then tried replacing the amdppm.sys with a different version of the same file, the stuttering stops, however after a period of time, my laptop would shut itself down completely.... so I replaced the previous file that I had thankfully made a copy of.
As helpful as google, this site and various others have been. I've yet to find a way to rectify the problem... without causing anymore and as I've said, I'm not terribly technical and fear that I might worsen the problem more before ever being able to fix it.
Please if anyone knows of a way to fix this, it would be greatly appreciated.
