Stop gpu drivers from installing during windows install

I just wiped my drive and was planning to do a fresh install of windows 7 32bit or 64bit(i dont care which). I attempted 64 bit first. About halfway through the install process my screen shuts off and the fan on my graphics card starts spinning super loud. Nothing happens until I turn off the computer. If I restart the computer as soon as it begins loading windows to complete the install my screen goes dark and the gpu fan spins loud again.

My gpu is a PNY geforce 9600 GSO 768mb overclock.

I know its the graphics card due to many many tests. Is there a way to install windows but either not let it use the default drivers or give it old ones to use?(Im fairly sure theres some old ones that work)

Help in any way is appreciated.

    Hi.
If you go to "Devices and Printers", and right click your PC icon, then click on "Device installation settings", it will give you the option to stop Windows automatically installing drivers, which you can then revert back once you've managed to update the graphics drivers.

Right, but this is before windows is installed. I dont have that button. I dont have a safe mode, I have nothing. I need to disable windows from using the drivers BEFORE windows itself is installed. How do I do that?
