Hello TheV, welcome to the Seven Forums.

BIOS is the Basic Input/Output System: BIOS - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Updating BIOS is a straight forward procedure, easy and fast to do. However, because a working BIOS is essential for your computer to work, you should be careful and first read instructions. A mistake when flashing (updating) the BIOS most probably causes your computer to stop working.

Here's an easy to understand set of instructions you could try.

Please notice a BIOS update has nothing to do with Windows; it does not belong to Windows or any other operating system. You could run Linux on your computer, but it still needs BIOS to start and work.
