    Tried the driver without the modified inf file, then with it and it didn't work and this popped up.

    have you tried loading the driver in admin mode, there is also the possibility you may have a bad card

    right ok, try these drivers but, run them in compat and admin mode for vista and see if these work for you NVIDIA DRIVERS 196.21 WHQL
