CD/DVD-ROM not detected in Windows 7

PLEASE HELP. I am using Lenovo 3000 N200. I upgraded from Vista to Win 7 but my CD/DVD-ROM has not been detected. I tried installing the latest Win Updates and removing Upperfilters/Lowerfilters in the registry but still to no avail. HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP.

Hello haynataro & welcome to SF :)

When did this start to happen? Just after installing W7 i presume.
Are there any relevant entries in the Event Viewer?
Maybe try reseating the cable connecting it to the PC?
What's the exact make/model of your DVD drive?

Yes immediately after installing rebooting Win 7. Forgot to mention that I could not find Upperfilters/Lowerfilters in the registry. I tried downgrading to WIN XP and the CDROM was there. Dont think there is sth to do with the cables. I forgot to note down the model last time and I cant find it now on the laptop as it does not appears. Hope you can help. Regards.
