Wifi, WLAN and USB drivers disable after every reboot

Hi, the problem I have is that every time i shutdown and power back on, my Wifi, WLAN and all the USB drivers are not working.

I found all I have to do is disable and then enable the Wifi / WLAN drivers in device manager, to start them working. And I found that If I uninstall all the USB devices in device manager they then reinstall automatically.

But then when I reboot then they are not working again.

I tried a system restore to when the drivers were working but they don't change.

I have downloaded the latest drivers from Intel's website, and tried DriverMax which says the drivers are the latest version.

I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on a Dell Studio 1555. The Wifi / WLAN drivers are Intel.

I've tried searching on google but I haven't come across anyone with this problem. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas? :)

thanks for the reply, I get this error (attached) when trying to open the downloaded driver from Dell's website (I had seen this before but ignored it and went straight to Intel's website).

It's strange because I am 100% sure it is the right driver (Win7 64 bit, Studio 1555, Intel(R) WiFi Link 5300).

Hmm anyone got any suggestions? I've tried googling for hours but I can't find any solution.

Otherwise the only option I can see is to reinstall Windows 7.

Wow, i have not seen this happen before. Everytime you restart the machine you get this?

If you have already done a system restore and gotten the correct/latest drivers from the vendor site (are u sure on this?)...there is only one thing left to try surely?

Yes I have downloaded the latest drivers from the manufacturers websites, and when that didn't work then older versions, and then other websites too. Nothing seem to has an effect - it just seems as if something happens when it's rebooted and it forgets that the driver was working properly.

Anyway I think I will reinstall Win 7. I have all my files and programs on an external HDD so it shouldn't be too troublesome.

    Thanks anyway :)

Woo! I managed to fix it. Weirdly enough it was iTunes was causing the problem. So I uninstalled that and it all works. Now just need to reinstall iTunes to see how that goes.

Just when I was about to give up I found someone who had the same problem (but in Vista)

Network Adapter and USB Drivers never work when Windows starts up

For me the issue was iTunes or something related to my iPhone jailbr**king programs. Once I uninstalled iTunes the issues went away. Look in your event logs and try to track down any events related to usb drivers. My system was trying to load libusb0.sys instead of the default windows drivers. I could disable and enable the usb hub to resolve the issue till the next reboot. Uninstalling iTunes resolved this for me. I have reinstalled iTunes, the same version (9.0.3 I think), and everything is working so far. Hope this helps! If your drivers were working before, then they do not need to be updated, usb hasn't changed my in the last few years!
