    USB Host Controller problem

    Hi

Have the following problem I've so far been unable to solve.
I have an ASUS P5K-E running 32 bit Windows 7. In device manager the following are highlighted with the following message.
-Standard Universal PCI to USB Host Controller
-VIA Rev 5 or Later USB Universal Host Controller
    -VIA USB Enhanced Host Controller
"This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24)"
I cannot get the support CD from ASUS to run as it says non supported O/S and compatibility does not allow it either and so far have been unable to source correct drivers from ASUS or the Internet.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    regards

Is this under USB or system (in device Manager)

Can you go to the Properties, in Details tab, drop down to select Hadware ID. Can you screenshot this info. Might as well do it for each device while you are there.

I am having a similar problem with Windows 7 64 bit.

I have a P5K-E WIFI motherboard and get the above message for

    • NEC PCI to USB OPen Host Controller x 2
    • Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller
    • Hardware ID:

    PCI\VEN_1033&DEV_00E0&SUBSYS_ABCD0E55&REV_04
    PCI\VEN_1033&DEV_00E0&SUBSYS_ABCD0E55
    PCI\VEN_1033&DEV_00E0&CC_0C0320
    PCI\VEN_1033&DEV_00E0&CC_0C03
I have tried installing all the latest drivers, I even used driver genius with the latest updates and it still can't find any more recent/appropriate drivers.

Welcome to Seven Forums Sheepdisease: I would also recommend the same for you. You can use the same link as above, select motherboard,775 socket, and your MB. It uses the same version driver, you may also look into having the latest bios as well. Fabe
