Uninstall the Microsoft ACPI Compliant System driver and reboot - you can set Device Manager to View By Connection to show it more clearly.
Ok, I did that: uninstalled > rebooted > Windows reinstalls everything > reboot again.

Unfortunately, had a Chrome/Flash Player crash in the first minute of browsing.

Uninstall Flash with the uninstaller, reboot, reinstall flash only for IE/Windows. Try again.

    Yay!

Reinstalled Flash Player using the uninstaller, and everything seems to be working fine until now! I had no crashes with Flash apps today using Chrome, amazing!

Thank you so much!!! Kudos to you!

I'm gonna run a few more stability tests with Mozilla Firefox. I'll report any news...

Mozilla Firefox > keeps crashing with "Crash Reporter" window
Google Chrome > a few "Aw, snap!" pages
The Sims 3 > keeps crashing to desktop with no error message

My computer = crap. I quit...

The only problem that seems to be solved is the issue with Flash Player crashes, though. Already tried repeating the ACPI re-installation process.

Edit: Did some temperature monitoring with CPUID Hardware Monitor while playing The Sims 3 for almost one hour:

    • CPU: 84 C max
    • GPU: 77 C max

The crashes are due to heat then - you CPU should be under 50 degrees, GPU under 70. I would re-apply TIM, and possibly look at a new heatsink and fans.

That would void warranty. :/ I think I should just wait for a while, and try to get used to all those crashes. I'm starting to find a few other people with similar problems @ other forums where I've created this thread.

Crashes are never something to get used to.

Well said. Crashes are because something is not right; they are to be resolved.

Yup, but I don't know if I can send it back to warranty if there's no apparent cause for these problems. I have not contacted HP Support yet, but I don't think they'll come up with a solution.
