    PCI Simple Communications Controller

    Hey Guys,

Just installed Windows 7 Ultimate on a 2 year old machine, and I have no sound. The only driver that is missing is the PCI Simple Communications Controller, and I can't seem to find it anywhere.

    I'm running the

    Intel G965 motherboard 1066MHz FSB, Core 2 Duo E6300 Processor, 3GB DDR2, 400GB Sata II HD.

I have read around the forums here and can't seem to find the answer.

    Anyone help?

Hi there, run windows update and look for the "optional updates" on the left. You will probably see a sound driver. Install that and should be all good.

No sound. 64 Bit Ultimate 7

I have no sound through my speakers or USB headphones. When I open up the windows sound mixer it indicates that "sounds" are coming through, but none are being played. All of my drivers are up to date and correct. When I press the test button under the control panel, I get the test tones through my headphones but not my speakers. That is the only sounds that I get to play at all.

    Operating System
    MS Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
    CPU
    Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 @ 1.86GHz 44 °C

    RAM
    3.0GB DDR2
    Motherboard

    Optical Drives

Any help would be appreciated. The speakers are selected as the default audio device.

I was able to get the PCI driver through DriverMax, I will give the optional updates a try.

Usually if you want your sound to work you can get the driver from Windows Update, I had to do that after I did a clean install of Vista Basic. Other than that you can also get it from the manufactures website.

In the Device Manager the only thing that it shows under (Sound, video, and game controllers) are
    -High Definition Audio Device
    -Logitech USB Headset

    Is that a problem?

The driver version installed is 6.1.7600.16385

My Device Manager now shows no missing drivers, but I have no audible sound even though the mixer shows sound inside the computer.
