Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

thanks for the link. That i tried first but it would say the board is not Asus. As for your ATI card are you sure it even works? I know it's new but sometimes i do come across d.o.a cards. My first PCIE Asus card was one of them )
On the other hand, can you tell me what power supply you are using?

Windows 7 64bit

I have two cards. as I thought my first one was DOA. I have a 600watt Corsair psu that is brand new and works. Apparently its a very big issue with our boards and ATI cards especially looking on the asus forums.

Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

Sorry to hear that mate. I picked my board especially to do sli since i already had the GeForce cards, and it's very hard to find board for intel CPU that has Nvidia chipset. Looks like for you it was the other way around...
I asked about the psu since it would be the last hope of finding the problem, but yeah, ATI-Nvidia problem is still there in 2012. Capitalistic truth: they don't give a damn about the user, they just want their products sold so you have to go with just one of the brands.
