Wndows 7 struggles to run properly on my old IBM 386...very low WEI scores.
I feel your pain.
no...my system can't even calculate my WEI score
Yep, I'm having the same problems I used the xp driver installer for my card (geforce2 mx/mx 400) and it worked pretty well but when I open a program that requires use of 3d/directx features it crashes(blue screen of death)~, my guess is its the driver dll's doesnt support Directx 11 or doesnt support windows 7 at all :O.
I'm not a program expert or PC expert so can anyone be kiled enough to develop/modify the current drivers for it to work on windows 7 :O
or does anyone know how to change directx11 to directx 9 in windows 7 ;O?
I tried but I cant get it to work : (
Thank you very much

So after 6 days of BLUESCREENS and 4bit display mode, I finaly figured that forceware versions 8x.xx below should work with windows 7 for those using geforce2 mx/mx 400 simply download a driver below 8X.XX and run compatibility mode (Windows XP SP2).
Sadly 8X.XX is way too old and has few awesome features ;(. I hope someone can mod a nice 180+ forware version to wokr with older cards
Thank you very much

Unfortunately there isn't much use or need of drivers for cards as old as GeForce 2, so you probably won't see many developers looking to support them. I know it's hard some times, but there are some great cards out there that you could upgrade to (even PCI and AGP still). Try www.newegg.com or www.tigerdirect.com.
Sorry that I can't be of any more help.
I would suggest MS retain backwards compatibility with Drivers, even a DX7 compatibility layer if possible.
That way people with decent laptops (I have a Thinkpad R40) can still run it without problems. Sure, we won't get Aero.. but who cares. If I can watch a DVD on my laptop, that's good enough for me.
As for the programs themselves, go ahead. Why does MS keep compatibility for old programs back to Windows 95, but not for drivers? They need a "Compatibility Mode" layer for older drivers.
