and the standard drivers should work fine
    especially now

i think of this vista as the nextstep or OSX
i know how people see it more like (ME) (i actually used it and maintained and it was good to me, only bsod rarely (drivers that werent for the HW or messing with the registry...lol)
Microsoft knew this was gonna happen (i am pretty sure)
from here on they will have it a little easier...
the base is there all you need is to optimize it and componetize
i only hope they are able to regulate the Winsxs folder though (32 and 64)
i doubt win 7 will be able to though...
    maybe win 8

i mean you know you wont be getting all the perks that some more faster machines are capable of getting....(well actually you can but its going to run as slow as hell...)....no offense of course...

as i remmeber when that was a very fast machine in 2000's when 2000 and ME were the lastest and greatest (maybe xp..) (i still dont get why everyone was complaing ME was a Disaster.... i installed on at least 4 different computers (all from the 2000 era and at that time they were smooth computing enviroments....i had almost no problems (now i didnt say there perfect either...lol) but it ran smoothly...)

yes they applied memory tweaks to the w7 in 6956 version

i do actually recommend it for slower computers...
it even runs on those machines faster than vista...

but for a fast machine with enough memory to have a fresh installation of xp in the ram and have to spare i would go with the 6801 ver x64

and yes buy that time they will have a public beta
