Having trouble installing ups thermal printers on win 7

Right let me start of with saying it is a zebra ups thermal lp 2844 printer which is connected to the server.

it works fine with all the xp machines ( about 15 of them )

we have just got in 4 new windows 7 machines, 2 running 32 bit and 2 running 64 bit.

i get different error messages between the 32bit and 64bit machines.

Let me walk you through, on BOTH machines i go:

start > devices and printers > add printer >add network, wireless or Bluetooth
    device.

it then searches, "connecting to ups thermal 2844 on server"

    now here are the differences:

    on 32 BIT i get:

windows cannot connect to the printer. cannot create a file when that
    file already exists.

    on 64 BIT i get:

    no driver found:
windows cant find a driver for ups thermal 2844 on th network. to locate on
manually, click ok. otherwise click cancel and consult your network administrator
    or the printer manufactorers website.

So i then click ok and point to the correct file, which results in the following message:

windows cannot locate a suitable printer driver. contact your administrator for
help loading and installing a suitable driver.

The driver i am trying to use is a new windows 7 driver which i downloaded from zebra.com:
    ( Driver - Search Results)

i have also tried all the drivers we have on our server for these machines and also tried the disk that it comes with.

    Any ideas?

The Compatibility Center shows that your printer should be compatible with Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit: Windows 7 Compatibility Center search results - zebra ups thermal lp 2844 printer. Through this link you can try checking with the printer manufacturer website for updated drivers.

    Windows 7 compatible drivers LP2844

If you are printing from a Windows program then Seagull Scientific offer Windows 7 compatible drivers, you can download them here and it will allow you to install printer drivers by running the driver wizard: http://www.seagullscientific.com/dow...ebra_7.1.9.exe

The Zebra compatible drivers are only really for Zebra Designer Software which is not fully compatible with Windows 7 yet.

    Hope this helps

Problem Installing LP2844-Z As A Network Printer

Hi I'm having a really hard time with the Zebra LP2844-Z printer and Windows 7!

I have a number of Windows 7 machines connected to my Linksys switch which is connected to my Zyxel router. My Zebra LP2844-Z printer is also connected to the switch and when I try to install the printer as a network printer on any of the machines, Windows 7 fails to see the printer on the network (it sees all the other printers but this one!). I've tried to repeat the process after installing the correct and updated driver from the Zebra website but no luck!

    Please help!!!

Does anyone has a solution to this problem? I still cannot install a network Zebra LP 2844 on my new Windows 7 operating system. It is giving all the same error even though I downloaded the correct drivers. When I point to the .inf file, it says its incorrect. Someone help?

I'm having the same exact problem. Win7 x86, XP PC sharing the UPS Thermal Printer. All XP Machines connect to it fine, but the Win7 machine won't.
