I have an HP Compaq NX9010. Everything works great except the audio. I went to the Windows Update website and it detected all the necessary hardware drivers. However, the Conexant AC-Link Audio Driver causes audio stutters and locks up the PC. I tried the drivers from the Microsoft Update Catalog but they don't work either. It is an ALI chipset. The hardware ID is PCI\VEN_10B9&DEV_5451&SUBSYS_0850103C&REV_02.
Please help this is driving me nuts!!!
Thank you,
Rich
BTW, everytime I try to edit My System Specs the info I put in disappears!?
Never mind. It just showed up. My System Specs are now appearing.

Something weird is going on. My System Specs appear and disappear. Not only that but my replies will disappear as well. I also get messages saying I don't have permission to reply.
hey baarod,
Thanks for the info on the hardware ID's. I was wondering, how's the tutorial shaping up? I'd love to have that referenced somewhere. might help with pesky PCI devices.
Baarod,
Any idea what I can do to get the sound working properly on my HP laptop?
Hi I got some problems with the audio drivers, the hardvare Id's are:
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4370&SUBSYS_3091103C&REV_02
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4370&SUBSYS_3091103C
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4370&CC_040100
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4370&CC_0401
Got no sound for my HP Ze2000, spent all day searching, no sound still, don't wanna go back to XP. Would appreaciate if someone could help :)
Thanks for the specs! I'm looking at it now...
Did you try sp30157 from HP at http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...tem=ob-30229-1
Make note of where it unpacks the driver files. If their installer fails you can then try to manually specify that driver folder using device manager.
