Dell XPS M1530, DVD ROM driver, Win 7 Pre SP1

Hi guys, I was just wondering, if anyone knew about a newer firmware or driver software that I could find for the Optical Drive of my Dell XPS M1530.

The problem is that I'm testing Windows 7 SP1 (V 1.53, btw). Yeah... Yeah... I know... Since is not an official release I can't hope for it to work or have them available, etc... etc...

But, I felt a considerable speed up in my system, and almost all bugs and slowdowns that my Win 7 64 bit had, were resolved, or were not presented.

I really need a driver that can actually support it, if exists, if not, well... got to wait for the main release... ()

    This is the optical device:
    Optaric DVD+=RW AD=7640A ATA Device

Try a vista driver in compatibility mode. That's all I can think of.

If you have a vista driver that worked you can use it in win 7, by installing it in compatibility mode.

To do that right click the installer>properties>compatibility>choose OS.

    Good luck

    Thx for the help.
    Anymore suggestions?

Hey, thanks guys, I managed to solve the problem.

What I did, is clean install Windows 7, reupgraded to Beta SP1, and it miraculously detected the Optical Drive. With this done, I'm able to max out my Win7 experience.

    Thanks for the help.

And I got to say, this is Microsoft's best Service Pack, since there has no issue in any programs, and antivirus I've been using. Also, if someone has problems, try doing a clean install. Because if it worked in 7, it's going to work in pre sp1. Thx.
