Realtek ethernet and wireless CARD problem

I have some problems with these two Realtek card, before installing windows 7 all was ok (using XP) :

    Problems:
    1) Some downloads from particolar site do not start and remain in waiting, for example I can not donwload from HTML.it web site. I think that it depends by download protocol used by site but I am not a expertise. Others sites are OK like microsoft.com and all download are available and work ok.

    2) Virtual LAN inside Virtuabox does not work, and in the virtual machine guest (XP ) internet connection it is impossible.

    3) Some applications fails automatic update

I have buyed a new Realtek wireless card but above problem are same.

Note that on my XP partition on the same PC all work ok.

    Please, help me!!

    Thank you to all

    My dearest Andrea,

I want to make sure I am understanding all of this correctly:

    - Both your ethernet connection and wireless connection suffer from the problems you described?
    - Are you connected to a router at any time?
    - Do you have any firewall software and if so what is it?

    Dear jelyman,
thank you very much for your answer and sorry for my english .

    - Both your ethernet connection and wireless connection suffer from the problems you described?
    Yes!

    - Are you connected to a router at any time?
Yes, my router is an ADSL Alice (Telecom Italia) with two connection type: cable and wireless

    - Do you have any firewall software and if so what is it?
No, I have only Windows 7 Firewall

    Ok I have more questions.

Are your router and ADSL modem the same unit or do you have two independent units?

What is the make and model of the wireless card you currently have installed in your system?

[ps: i'd reply in italiano but I'd have to use software and it may not come out right]

    Hi jelyman,

I think that problem is not the LAN and wireless card, but Windows 7, Please, could you verify this link: "http://download.html.it/software/getit/4636/avira-antivir-personal-free-antivirus/", what protocol type is it used to download this file?

From others site I can download without problem, others no (like above link) my be that sites with problems have different download protocol, is it possible??

    Thanks
    Andrea

P.S. Ti prego aiutami a risolvere il problema!

Yes, the router and ADSL modem are the same unit.
One thing I would try is to get a hold of your ADSL provider and ask them to do a line check. Although this is happening with 7 and nothing else, it never hurts.

Also, have you power-cycled the modem recently? [unplug from power source, wait 30 seconds, plug in]

Do you have any friends that have a Windows 7 machine they can bring to your location? I ask this because if they do, hook up your ADSL to their machine. If they experience the same problem it's likely your modem and we can go from there.

What is the make and model of the wireless card you currently have installed in your system?
    WIRELESS
Manufacturer: Techmade, link to model: Adattatore PCI LAN Wireless 802.11g 54M
Installed driver for chipset: Realtek 8185 Extensible 802.11b/g Wireless Device
Do two things for me on this one:

    1. Check your XP installation to see if that same "Realtek 8185" driver is installed.

    2. After visiting the Techmade site [and translating it to english] I found a link for the drivers provided by the manufacturer. Try installing those drivers instead. Of course if you can create a restore point just in case something goes wrong and the world explodes [figuratively].

    Download Link: http://www.tech-made.com/driver/TM-WP61R.zip

    ETHERNET
Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20)
Give your Ethernet drivers an update. A new version was released on April 21st, 2010.

    This link should work: ftp://WebUser:K4d5wHY@202.134.71.21/...8_04202010.zip

    If not, head here: http://www.realtek.com/downloads/dow...&GetDown=false

and choose: Win7 32/64 Auto Installation Program (SID:1400998)

I am able to download the file just fine. It comes to you via HTTP just like the web site's content does.

Farņ il meglio che posso per aiutarvi, signorina!
