good day mates and good news! my problem is now solved.. the only problem was my lan card was defective.. i brought it to a local computer store and they replaced it with a new one and voila i can now access the internet.. after this computer, i was planning to turn my laptop into win7 but unfortunately, my laptop got stolen while i was doing my groceries so, no win7.. anyway, you can close this thread now.. thanks everyone! special mention to pebbly

wait.. one last thing before the mods close this thread.. i checked my wei and i was given a base base score of 2.7 from my graphics component.. processor is 5.4, memory is 5.4, gaming graphics 3.2, primary harddisk 5.7 (im still new here so i dont know how to post a screenshot ) im not boasting or anything but my videocard is a nvidia 512mb gs to i think i do not deserve a 2.7 score.. this is almost a 3 year old computer so maybe i deserve it also.. but my question is, how do i check if i installed the graphics driver correctly? i've been tinkering with 7 and i cant find it.. it is relatively easy in xp (start, run, dxdiag) but in 7, i cant find it.. can someone help me?

    Sorry about your laptop.

You can still access dxdiag in windows 7. Just search run in the start menu, open up the aplication and then type in dxdiag in Run.

For posting screen shots on 7 forums this should help you https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...en-forums.html

guys! last question.. while i was checking my video properties, i noticed that i had a 1gb of video available.. i immediately noticed it because my video card Nvidia GeForce 7300SE/7200 GS only has 512mb.. it said that i have a 1gb total available graphics memory with 256mb dedicated and 767shared.. is that normal or is there something wrong with it? sorry for always posting a question and not letting the mods close this thread.. :)

you're welcome, you could always add more ram that will allow the full use of video ram +some extra or better still go 64bit
