I am trying to install win7 Home Edition on my P4M800P-8237 motherboard machine. I tried the cd that came with it but it only works for XP and older. I also went to VIA but they don't have one. The problem is that the screen comes up in the lowest resolution with the basic driver and windows can't be made smaller so everything is visible. Does anyone have a solution?

Well there doesn't seem to be a driver for Windows 7 & S3 UniChrome Pro (Your integrated graphics. From what I can tell, there are no Vista drivers for Unichrome either. Your best bet is to use Vista Chipset drivers and XP Video drivers. However, you have to install then in compatibility mode.

Right Click Installer File > Properties > Compatibility Tab > Check Box, Choose either Vista or XP from list.

You may also need VGA logo drivers though I'm not sure:

Thanks for the information. It was just what I needed and it worked without any trouble. I was unaware that programs could be installed in compatability mode. I suppose if I had watched the intro info from Microsoft it might have told me about it, but I couldn't do that because my screen was mostly not readable due to the low resolution. Thanks again, Jimco0
