do you have the express service number on the bottom of the computer? if so you can go to support.dell.com and plug in the sefvice tag and they will find you a driver. Let us know if that doesnt work

    BTW I have a dell

You can find your service tag in your BIOS, press F2 at start up.

I also need help!! I have a Dell Inspiron 1721 with the integrated webcam (says Creative Technology) ungraded my OS from Vista to Windows 7 32 bit in January, and webcam won't work - give me the same error the guy above mentioned - need the WIA driver. I have checked device manager, no errors. Went to the camera itself, says device is working properly, hunted for a driver from the manufacturers website, downloaded it even though it's the one I already have in, no luck there. Dell won't help me (in chat or otherwise) because my warranty has expired...blah blah blah, and I have searched their website as well and can't seem to find anything...I'm at my wits end and I really want to solve this issue. Please help! Thanks!!

@beachbum24 Welcome to Seven Forums. Do you still have the discs that came wiith the system? If so have you tried the driver in compatibility mode. Vista or XP Compatibility Mode I searched google WIA for Dell Web camera came up with this didn't scroll through alll of them but might be worth a look, while I do some more searchig. Fabe Dell - Search - Small & Medium Business Well now At least noow I know what WIA stands for Windows Image Acquisition.

Their is a site where a person got his dell 1720 web camera working by simply installing the software only instead of letting it install to C\:Program Files)x86)Dell directory he changed it to C\:Programs File Dell on windows 7 64 bit. This would be Dells Media Direct 3.5 software. It's post #4 here http://social.technet.microsoft.com/...9f-9548ec16e7c I don't know if this will get you any closer but looked promising, their is a lot more information included in the post further down.lFabe
