    First command you do is:

    takeown /f c:\windows\system32\drivers\vgapnp.sys

This will give ownship to the current user. You should see a message saying SUCCESS etc..

I typed in the first command and received Error Invalid argument option 'fc:\windows\system32\drivers\vgapnp.sys'. Type 'TAKEOWN/? for usage. no luck for me on this Gateway 7330GZ laptop

OK thanks, I will try again and add a space between the f and the c. hopefully that will do it. Is there a space after 'takeown', because it looks like there is? I'll let you know.

Are there any spaces in the second command line?

    Help

I have a similar issue as another poster above that was never responded to.

I complete all the steps successfully but when I reboot the PC the display adaptor reverts back to an unknown device. is there any trick to get it to get it to stick?
