    Mass Storage Controller issues

OK, I made a fresh installation of Windows 7 64 bit Premium over my Vista OS way back in November 2009. I then get a report that the mass storage controller device drivers are not installed. I tried to look around but got no such help.

My laptop model is a Gateway FX P-7805g notebook.

According to my Norton 360 Premier Edition Diagnostic report, it is now an inoperable hardware device. When I run device manager, and click on update driver, no such driver can be found.

Please help! I consider myself a newbie when it comes to Windows 7!

    Thanks!

Well thanks for the link. But the problem is, I am not able to find the mass storage controller driver here! What is the reason?

    Hi
Yes I understand your frustration because the same thing happened to me. Searched everywhere for Gateway MX6027 Mass Storage Control Drivers.OK, I don't know if it will work for you but here goes. I did fresh install Windows XP Pro SP3 on my Gateway Laptop. I went to Gateway support download drivers everything installed ok. Gateway has a different way of grouping their drivers. Example some drivers are bundled in with other drivers, some have no setup for application to install. Here is the deal. I looked everywhere on the internet for Gateway Mass Storage Drivers for my Gateway MX6027 Laptop!!!! They were right there on the Gateway support website bundle in with "the Memory Card Reader Driver files download." Inside that Memory Reader file is a TIxx21.msi files which had the Mass Storage Drivers files in it. Oh make sure you install all your other drivers before you install Mass Storage Drivers. What a happy day it was when I booted my Laptop and it installed the drivers for the Mass Storage Controller. It might work the same way with Windows 7 . Try it what do you have to loose? Make sure you download the Gateway Memory Card Files, not Intel files.
