Kyocera Network Printer FAIL. supposedly Win7 Driver package

downloaded yesterday for an important installation where I was very afraid to use 64-bit Windows 7 in real production environment with non-technical users. older Kyocera model, fortunately has a fairly recent wad-respin tagged for x64 Windows 7 & Vista. Ran multiple tries as Administrator, user, compatibility mode, debug mode. nada.
    could not install the drivers.

i see all the files necessary right there but they don't clue me as to whether the driver files themselves are 32bit or 64.

any idea how to hack this in?

Short of just running the installer one quick and easy way to check is to locate any INF files and look for anything mentioning "AMD64", if that is present then the drivers will be/work on 64 bit Windows.

What Kyrocera model is it zapp22? Some of the legacy printers can run as HP printers.
If it ran in Vista it should be able to run using your Vista drivers but you may lose some capacity you won't know what until it is working.

fish, that would be excellent news. I want to remember the kyocera as a xx14... something like 6014 model. it stands alone on the net, which is a plus.
if it can run HP drivers I'd be thrilled. HP seems to be on the ball re x64. I took an old deskjet printer yesterday and loaded their x64 installer on it, moved it next to the new machine - worked like a champ.

how would I know? just try an install? [not likely to work].
you have any idea what family or technology it would find chemistry with?

Well I went through the Kyrocera site but came up empty concerning anything with Model xx14 or 6x14 but looking deeper Microsoft has this to say about printer drivers to help you figure what else is out there if your printer manufacturer is not updating. Hope it helps....

How to find a compatible printer driver for a computer that is running a 64-bit version of Windows

This driver is supposed to work with Vista Kyocera Mita FS-C5016 Driver Download Don't have your printer so I can't test it, I'd load it in Vista compatibility mode and if that doesn't make it try XP SP3.
