Yes I did. Remember I told every one I was going to dump this version and start fresh. Well I did. I watched a guy install Win 7 RC today, and he has 2 old printers, and they installed with out him doing any thing. Everything was picked up by Win 7, it went so slick, I could not believe it. And this piece of crap wont even see a networked computer, let alone a printer.

I am too tired for TeamViewer tonight, but I think we need to reset all the settings & the HomeGroup for the network.

Hi Gang... Well it is working now, and before you call me a big dummy, let me explain this.

Just keep this fact in the back of your head, as you read my explanation. many many times as I was going through this problem, I made sure the Epson printer was working, with my XP computer, it made the audible sound with connecting and disconnecting with the computer when I turned the printer off and one. So last night I was messing with it again, and thought before I get started with it I will make sure it would work with the XP computer again, well it didn't, it still made the sounds but would not print, and the little window that pops up when it gets set to print, all the print cartridges were grayed out. So I thought with all my messing around with this something got messed up, lost a driver, etc. So just for the heck of it I clicked on the CD print icon, to see what that would do, and instead of the CD print showing up, Driver detective popped up. So I did a search for this driver detective, cause I used a free version one time, could not find any driver-detective any where. So I figured I would get rid of all my Epson programs, and start fresh. Well long story short, it would not install, errors, etc. So I thought well I will try a diff USB connection, that changed nothing, so I thought what the heck change the cable, as soon as I did it installed no problem, and thinking might this be the problem with it not working with the Win 7RC computer. naa you are saying, but it worked it installed and connected just like you guys have been telling me all this time it should, and no other drivers needed.

During all this trying to get it to work I have had to plug and unplug the cable several times. During the install process of the drivers, there is a step that you have to plug the printer back in. So it was the cable all this time. I am guessing the wires or what ever is in that cable that bring on the audible sound was good and the wires that carry the info, were bad.

Some thing an old guy told me a long time ago when I was starting my repair life, he said "Think Simple Stupid". Don't have your mind made up what's wrong, before you even see the thing you are going to repair. And another thing don't get this Driver-detective, it is terrible, read some of the reviews on it, if you don't believe me. One thing that proves why I think this way, that is you cannot get rid of it by simply uninstalling it, it hides in so many places almost makes it impossible to get rid of, and I had the free version. And your malware don't catch it either. It is a legit site.

If my explanation as to this problem, does not make sense, just get back to me, and thanx to all of you that have tried to help me on this. Lesson learned think simple.

    Thanx...Gunny
