    New driver wont install

Hi...I was searching for some solutions in the internet when i found you r site.Few days ago I installed win 7 on my hp laptop, which previously had win vista installed on it.Installed all drivers and everything semeed to work fine.I started geting a bsod ,and figured out that i installed the wrong display driver.Booted up in safe mode and uninstalled it.After booting up in normal mode windows installed the standard VGA graphic adapter. When I tried to open a game a pop up appeared saying either 3d acceleration is not enabled or I need to update my display drivers.Went to device manager right click on standard VGA graphic adapter->update driver->windows said the best driver is already installed. So i downloaded the newest display driver from nvidia(the right one).Runed it and then it asked me to restart my laptop, what i did.But after booting up ive got a bsod.Laptop restarts and I run it in safe mode, uninstall the newly installed driver and kabom windows boots up normaly. Here are my pc specs:
    Operating system:Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit(6.1,build7600)
    System manufacturer:Hewlett-Packard
System model:HP pavilion dv9700 Notebook PC
    BIOS:PhoenixBIOS 4.0 Release 6.1
    Processor:AMD Turion(tm)64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-60(2CPUs),2.0GHz
    Memory:3072 RAM
    Page file:731MB used,5410 available
    DirectX ver.irectX 11
    Graphic card:Nvidia GeForce 8400m
P.S. For some reason Im not able to see my graphic card in the dxdiag toll under the display TAB
    Thanks in advance

    Hi carly

    Welcome to Seven Forums :)
Could you check that you downloaded the drivers for the mobile version of the video card?
Just checked the Nvidia site and this is the link to the most current driver for your card

    Hi carly

Have a look at this vid.
Could not locate any windows 7 driver on the HP website.
Also try downloading the driver (this version is for Vista) from this link for your video-card - you will need to completely uninstall the current Nvidia driver on your laptop and try installing this downloaded driver in compatibility mode - refer to this Seven Forums Tutorial

    Hope this helps
