Here's another one to try, Driver Whiz: Driver Whiz | Update Your Drivers!

Should scan your devices and look for missing drivers as well.

Ah nice isn't mentioned anywhere, how much?

Running out of ideas atm.

Last thing I like to ask is what does it say under driver details when you click it and what happens when you click uninstall? (under device properties/driver)

I don't know any other options atm (maybe some other member will) then to contact LG customer support again (maybe better via e-mail) and ask again for the drivers.
It seems strange to me that they wouldn't have them backed up somewhere.

Sorry I couldn't help you with a solution, let us know if you find one.

Have you tried Windows Update? it may be able to locate and re-instal.

other than that: This is a SATA drive yes? How many extra SATA ports do you have open?

What you may try is shutdown the PC.

Move the DVDs SATA port connection to another open one.

Reboot and Windows should be forced to reinstall the DVD Drive. This might work,as it will be seen as a new device. But Im somewhat doubtful TBH.
It looks as if you have deleted the original.

Have you tried a system restore or have it turned off?
If you do not use a Imaging program (Such as Acronis,Paragon,Macrium, or Windows Built in one) and making regualr images...

I would highly suggest leaving System Restore services ON. It may help in situations like this.
In fact, it may be best to leave it on even if you do use imaging, just as a secondary precaution.
