Real quick question.

    Sorry for the bump, but is there REALLY no way to disable this automatic driver thing? You really can't have Windows 7 let you install your own drivers? Jeez.

    The problem is, when I do this, the wireless adapter won't even show up in the device manager, thus not even giving me the option to find the drivers for it.

    I just want it so Windows does not prevent you from installing a driver, even if Windows thinks it's already got the most up to date one installed.

    Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit / XP Home sp3

    Since you have listed your folder containing a .inf file you can try going to device manager>the device you want to install the driver for>update driver software>browse my computer>let me choose> have disk>select or point it to the .inf file>then click or double click the .inf file and see if it will install that way.
