Seconds after launching the program I receive an error message. The message sounds similar to the Avast message:

    ShyBar has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program.

I've tried some of the more obvious things to resolve the issue - reinstallation, restarting, updating windows, diagnostic startup, updating 2013 C++ etc. but the problem persists with only windows programs running. I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, Intel i5-2410M, 6GB Ram.
    Hi CrankyCraig,

Are you running with multiple monitors or a 4k monitor? Monitor issues have been the biggest troublemaker I've seen. That said, your setup should run it no problem. If you could try running again and then immediately after the crash check

Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Event Viewer / Windows Logs / Application

for events relating to ShyBar. Please PM any messages in the log to me to avoid cluttering the thread.

    Thanks for the response jykelly.

This laptop is used as a HTPC/Server, so it does use multiple displays (laptop screen plus 1080p TV). However, these errors occur even when the TV is disconnected, and the laptop restarted with nothing other than windows services running.

I'm sorry, I can't seem to find an option anywhere on the site to PM you, which I suspect is somehow a result of my being new here. In an effort not to over clutter, I've posted the logs for the 2 error messages here.

If you need any more information, please let me know.

Edit: With truly comedic timing, the laptop has suffered a motherboard failure, and will subsequently be broken up for parts.

    CrankyCraig,

    Condolences on your laptop

Unfortunately, I am unable to replicate your problems with ShyBar here. But the messages helped; I will add more hardening to the code when I get some time to work on it. Not sure when that will be as I am currently having to learn how to speak Japanese...

Created an account just to express my gratitude on this tool.

FYI still works on W10, and I managed to run it "portable" just by extracting the .exe and ddl hook from setup. No need to install!

Thanks again for this awesome tool
