    Games for 8800gt

Can anyone suggest medium end games for Xfx 8800gt? Games that won't generate a lot of heat like Crysis.

I'm worried about my ram, one of my friend's ram got fried after installing 8800 gts beacause of the heat... as I also have a Micro-ATX, I took out one of my two HDDs (Samsung Spinmaster, PATA) and installed a 90mm Glacialtech cabinet fan (exhaust). I'll later replace my existing HDD with a newer SATA one, probably Seagate.

If you're worried about heat generation then you may want to look into a cooling system, whether it be an extra fan or a full blown water cooling system.

I believe it is also possible to change the emergency shutdown temperature (probably 100șC) for your GPU to one which you are happy with (maybe 70-80șC). I don't know of any software off hand that can do this but you might be able to do it from the BIOS.

Google it and see what comes up.

As for games? Try a flight simulator type game or (if you haven't already) try playing Half Life 2 with medium settings or less.

What sorte of games do you like to play? FPS,racing cars,Flight simulators? Call fo duty's, Fear,Grand Theft auto's, Counter Strike, Far Cry but it runs of the same engine as Crysis. Haven't tried Doom or the early Halo, Quake 4. just a few. Faber

I like games like NFS MW, (especially) The Witcher, WoW, AoM, Gun....Will try FEAR,is it a good game? I'd also like to try CoD Modern Warfare 2 on a low/medium setting.
