The Force Unleashed Slow framerate... a fix?

    Hello evry1!!!

I just wanted to know if any of you guys knows how to fix the terrible low framerate in star wars the force unleashed ultimate sith edition. Not even patch 1.2 fixes it!!! Any ideas on how to fix it? I'm not holding my breath tho, the game seems to be crapoola no matter what you do , is it because I'm using Windows 7? or the fact that it's 64bit edition??

The couple of times I have had this problem and I know for a fact I have tried all the updates and i know my computer can run it with no problems, the thing that fixes it for me is to run it in compatability mode for xp service pack 3 + run as admin.I had a problem with fear 2,it was jerky as hell until i ran it under comp mode for xp.

Are you talking about choppy framerates, or the 30 FPS cap?

Then again, the 220 GT isn't a particularly powerful card so you'll probably have to set it on the lowest settings that the extremely limited graphic options allows.

Im talking about choppy framerates, sometimes it slows like hell, yeah the GPU I'm ussing isn't the gratest but it runs all my other games without pain at high settings (RE 5 it's running at 50fps 1920x1080 and the ghostbusters game too, another badly coded game hehehe) I mean damn, this machine excedes the recommended requirements for that game lol. Im gonna try that run as admin. tip. Thanks for your replies.

It's been that long since I played this game, I can't really remember any 'tweaks' I may have used.

However this may be worth a shot:

Go to, C:\Users\(UserName)\Application Data\Local\Aspyr\Star Wars The Force Unleashed\

Right click on Config.xml and click edit. Notepad will open. There will be a file name <s id="LowDetail">0</s>. Change the 0 to 1 and save it. Now you can play the game, with offcourse some low details. But details will not be that bad and game will be very playable in large area fights.
I didn't use this, so I can't guarantee it will help.

IIRC, v-sync had an impact on this game - but I can't remember if forcing it on or off actually helped

Sorry mate, as I said it's been a while since I played this and I can't really think of any other possible tweaks

This is whatt you do. I had the exact same problem. There is a place where you can set the graphics settings, set it on lowest, and there should be a check box just below the low medium high settings, uncheck that and you should be able to play without choppiness.

If it doesn't work please post a pic of the graphics settings page.

I ended up fixing this by right clicking the ati tab down in the taskbar and set the anti aliasing and anistropic filtering to application managed this is under the 3d setting stupid game with really bad graphics management
