Windows 7 which version?

    Home Premium is fine for most people. If you need the Group Policy Editor, being able to RDP into your machine, the ability to join a domain, then I suggest Professional, otherwise Home Premium is just fine.

    In relation to gaming though, any version (except Starter) should be fine.

    as stormy says "it doesnt matter what version you get" they are all the same when it comes to gaming , if you want to save cash go for the basic version .

Hello- Thinking about doing the switch to Windows 10 from Windows 7, but do not want to do the in place upgrade- and yes, it's still available. With the update 1511, it is now possible to do a clean install of Windows 10 with a Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1 product keys.
