    Renaming the TF2 folder will cause steam to re-download all the content that is stored in the TF2 folder because it wont be able to find it, as you will have re-named it.

    Settings are still stored in the registry don't forget to delete that too.

    @solarnoise: try disabling your sound card in device manager and then run the game and see if it plays the same. if the lag / stutters are gone, check out this thread for the fix: https://www.sevenforums.com/gaming/31980-lag-online-games-windows-7-a.html#post331641

    Dont touch the registry, it wont fix anything for TF2.
    That and the fact that by the sounds of it you are unfamiliar with the registry, I wouldnt go near it

I'm getting these errors and it didn't start happening till I got a legit version of the game (Lol). Screen shots: http://i41.tinypic.com/1zv672e.png <-As you can see the door is all screwed up. Btw, when I walk up to the door the game freezes, my screen turns black this happens ->...

It works but isn't smooth. Graphics card is ATI 4870 and I have the latest driver but it seems choppy. It may be the network code. My ping is typically 20 and now 40, which is low. I had some of this early in Vista and it was mostly the video card drivers which they did fix.
I seem to be having issues with Team Fortress 2 on Windows 7. I tried a lot of things, and none of them worked. It seems that I can run TF2 just fine. However, when I actually connect to a server and get ready to play a game, it freezes a few seconds after connecting. Sometimes, I'm able to...
yesterday there was an update for team fortress 2. And since then i get a blue screen everytime i boot the game... anyone got a solution?
